The Windurance Pitch Control Unit (PCU) is engineered with the most current technological advances in the industry. The PCU controls most functions of a wind turbine blade pitch system. During normal operation, the PCU constantly computes independent motion tragectories for each blade to place them in the proper position. The PCU monitors the Emergency Power Units (one per blade - typically 3 blades.) In an emergency situation , the PCU and EPUs will "feather" the blades to bring the turbine to a safe stop.

The Windurance PCU features a stainless steel enclosure with a built-in fan to keep the sensitive electronic components cool. The PCU is engineered to allow for a flexible, customized design to fit any wind turbine requirements.

The PCU can be adapted for both cold weather and offshore applications.
