“Windurance FAST" is a graphical user interface for NREL FAST (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) (Fatigue, Aerodynamics, Structures, and Turbulence), which simulates wind turbine Fatigue, Aerodynamics, Structures, and Turbulence.

The graphical user interface displays a hierarchical tree diagram of the FAST project files with tabbed edit windows for viewing or modifying them.  It also has a ‘Properties’ window that can be used to create a FAST .fst file.  “Windurance FAST" output variables can be viewed as graphs.

The FAST.exe program has also been converted to a DLL to allow the display of a real-time 3D wind turbine model with times 10 tower bending and blade tip displacements.  A heads-up strip chart display can display any of over 300 FAST position, velocity, acceleration, force, and moment variables.
